Title: They Almost Always Come Home
Author: Cynthia Ruchti
Published: May 1, 2010
When Libby’s husband Greg fails to return from a two-week canoe trip to the Canadian wilderness, the authorities soon write off his disappearance as an unhappy husband’s escape from an empty marriage and unrewarding career. Their marriage might have survived if their daughter Lacey hadn’t died…and if Greg hadn’t been responsible. Libby enlists the aid of her wilderness savvy father-in-law and her faith-walking best friend to help her search for clues to her husband’s disappearance…if for no other reason than to free her to move on. What the trio discovers in the search upends Libby’s presumptions about her husband and rearranges her faith.

My Review:
I enjoyed this book but I will have to admit that there were a few pages that I just skipped over. It seemed towards the beginning it was along the lines of the wife being mad because she didn't get to leave her husband before he left her and then the end of the book it was mostly about religion, it sort of just came up on you really fast. Not saying religion in a book is bad but there was a lot of it in the end of the book and to me it didn't seem to fit there.. The wife at the beginning seemed to be a bit nuts to me, she was mad that her husband hadn't come home from his fishing trip because she wanted to leave the marriage before he did. And then she was mad at him for their daughter being killed, which you don't find out why until towards the end of the book.
At the end the book starts to rotate between the wife and the husband and it just got a little weird for me. I did find humor in this book, especially when they are trekking through the woods to find her husband, there were funny parts. It wasn't an all around bad book, I would recommend it to others, just not a favorite.
